Alessandro Bozzoli is a Senior Scientist at FBK and he is currently the Head of the Knowledge Transfer Area, aimed at improving research results through knowledge and technology transfer processes to the application market and through collaborations with companies to create spin-offs and start-ups.

Alessandro Bozzoli has more than 30 years of research experience. From 1985 to 1998 he dealt with low level image analysis & processing, pattern recognition and image coding in moving scenes. From 1999 to 2003 he directed the Laboratory for Technological Transfer dealing with Investigation Methods for Non-Destructive Analysis for business service activities. In 2004 he launched the Research Line on Renewable Energies and Environmental Technologies and since 2007 he has been the Head of REET Research Unit of FBK (Renewable Energy & Environmental Technologies).

In the course of his activities he has published more than 50 scientific articles, has filed 6 patents and has coordinated over 10 European research projects and more than 20 local and national research projects. He has been involved in many actions to exploit the research results such as the start-up and new-co in collaboration with national and international companies.

He graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Bologna in 1982. In April 1985 he joined the Olivetti Research Department in Ivrea, where he directed the Image Analysis and Coding area. In 1991 he joined the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (IRST) in Trento, Artificial Vision area, first as a researcher then as a senior researcher (1999) and from 2014 as a senior scientist. He is currently a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), AIPnD (Italian Association for Non-Destructive Testing), ISES (International Solar Energy Society) and N.ERGHY – FCH (New European Research Grouping on Fuel Cells and Hydrogen).
